Summary

One of the prime UK equestrian sporting facilities with indoor and outdoor arenas in Addington, Buckinghamshire has recently undergone a change of ownership and an upgrade of all of its facilities. With regular national and regional events, including Great Britain team training, the facilities need to be first class. As part of an overhaul, the IT and communications infrastructure required complete replacement and upgrade. Addington Equestrian 2019 Ltd approached Yonet Telecom to install and provide service for:

• Gigabit presented Fibre Broadband (FTTP)

  • 4G Broadband back-up service in case of fibre failover

• Telephone – hosted VoIP for 6 lines

• Site-wide Wi-Fi – public and private use, including:

  • More than 4,000m2 of indoor arena space

  • Cafeteria, Office and Hospitality Suite

  • Outdoor Arena Pavilion and Stables Parking

• High Definition CCTV – securing indoor and outdoor space across site

Challenges

• With regular premium events and hundreds or thousands of visitors, the communications network needs to cope with the demands of all site visitors and staff.

• Security of visitors, livestock and their belongings on-site both day and night.

• Service provision across a large indoor and outdoor venue.

How Solution Helped

The business telephone and ultrafast fibre broadband service now provides the backbone to inbound and outbound communications for the site. By implementing an automatic business grade 4G failover service for the Internet, business continuity needs and requirements of the site staff and visitors is now in place. Reliability of the site connectivity is now vastly improved.

 

Cross-site gigabit Ethernet cabling coupled with Gigabit fixed wireless ensures all key indoor and outdoor site areas are reachable with fast network connectivity. This architecture along with 802.11ac Wi-Fi radios also ensures a vastly improved site-wide Wi-Fi coverage enabling staff and thousands of visitors to have an excellent Wi-Fi experience.  Live streaming of events from the site is now possible from the all the indoor and outdoor arenas.

 

The CCTV, now across the site, has improved site and visitor security and is able to support police investigations toward prosecution if and when required.
